World Juniors:

The elimination round begins this morning,

Already in progress is the relegation series between Germany and Kazakhstan.
Russia will take on Switzerland at 7:30 this morning.
Slovakia and Canada will battle at 10:30am
Finland and the United States will play at 11:30am.
Czech Republic and Sweden will play at 3pm.

The winners of the Quarterfinal games today will advance to the Semifinals on Saturday. The gold and bronze medal games are on Sunday!

NHL:

One Winter Classic game last night saw the Dallas Stars double the Predators 4-2. Corey Perry was ejected early in the game after a nasty elbow on Ryan Ellis.. He has an in person hearing this morning and is expected to be suspended for multiple games since he has a history of dirty hits and suspensions.

NBA:

The man who brought the NBA to Canada has passed away, David Stern was 77 years old.
Back in 1993 he took a gamble in bringing 2 franchises to Canada, the Vancouver Grizzlies who moved to Memphis after 6 years and the NBA Champion Toronto Raptors.
He’s known for taking a small league and turning it into a global sports empire.
