The Chicago Blackhawks announced the firing of president and CEO John McDonough on Monday. McDonough has been a fixture in Chicago sports for the past four decades and joined the team in 2007, ushering in a new period of relevance for the club. The title of CEO was added to his duties in 2011. Under McDonough, the Blackhawks won three Stanley Cups in 2010, 2013 and 2015 and McDonough spearheaded the returns of Tony Esposito, Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita as team ambassadors.
Kansas City Chiefs offensive guard and Super Bowl Champion, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is working at a long-term care facility in Quebec to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
Duvernay-Tardif’s agent confirmed the news but declined to share which residence his client is working in.
The St-Jean-Baptiste, Que., native, who holds a medical degree, told Sports Illustrated he was assigned to a facility on Montreal’s South Shore near his hometown. “It’s wild to think that just 10 weeks earlier I played in the biggest game in sports,” Duvernay-Tardif said in the Sports Illustrated piece published Monday morning.
