Cody Glass scored in his NHL debut to lead the Vegas Golden Knights to a 4-1 victory over the Sharks.
Connor McDavid scored the winner late in the 3rd period to lift the Oilers over the Canucks 3-2.
Jakub Varana was the hero in Washington, scoring the OT winner to spoil the St Louis Blues Stanley Cup banner ceremony with a 3-2 win.
And for the Toronto Maple Leafs.. John Tavares named the 25th Captain in Franchise history and the Toronto Maple Leafs picked up a big win over the Sens 5-3 to start the year.
