The Pictou County Bantam AA Crushers defeated the Antigonish Bulldogs Sunday at the PCWC by a score of 8-5. Reese Smith and Logan Crosby each had three goals and two assists. Lane Lochead collected two goals and two assists. This coming week-end, the Crushers play Truro in an exhibition game Saturday in Pictou at 12:00. They also travel to Amherst on Sunday to play Cumberland in a make up league game.
The Peewee A Crushers are Fundy Highland Region CHAMPS, they’ll play next for the Conference Title Vs Glace Bay, that game will be scheduled at a later date.
Congratulations to the Pictou Bantam C Maripacs for winning the Challenge Cup 2nd year in a row.
The Pictou Maripacs and the Trenton Steelers met in the PeeWee C Championship over the weekend with Trenton bringing it home by a score of 7-2.
The Trenton Steelers finished the season as the undefeated PeeWee C Champions with a record of 41-0-1.
Congratulations to the Fundy-Highland Selects on capturing the Female Bantam AA provincial title thanks to a 1-0 victory over Metro West Force White yesterday in Dominion. The Selects will represent Nova Scotia at Female Bantam Atlantics in Newfoundland in April.
NSMMHL:
In Major Midget action the Weeks Major Midgets were eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday by the Cole Harbour Wolfpack. They took game 3, 2-1 and the series in 3 straight.
Sam Archibald with the lone goal for Weeks, Ben Gibbon picked up 39 saves in the loss. The Wolfpack will play the Cape Breton West Islanders in the next round.
MLB:
Spring training continues, the Jays hammered the Twins 10-1. Also, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is out with a ‘left oblique strain’. They figure he will be out for three weeks, so the rest of spring training, including the games in Montreal.
NBA:
The Raptors came up big in Miami picking up a convincing 125-104 win over the heat.
