Female Midget AAA:
Congratulations to the Station Six Fire who battled back against the Northern AAA Subway Selects after the Selects took a 2-0 series lead. Station Six won the next two games at home to even the series at 2 and picked up a tough win on the road last night to win a trip to the Atlantics in New Brunswick, eliminating the Subway Selects.
Clarkson Cup:
Congratulations to Stellarton’s Blayre Turnbull and the Calgary Inferno on winning the Clarkson Cup, The Inferno beat the Canadiennes 5-2 last night to win their second CWHL Championship in team history.
Zoe Hickel scored a pair of goals, Blayre Turnbull added an assist in that win.
Maritime Hockey League:
All the first round series are finished except one, which could end tonight. The Amherst Ramblers have won 3 games in a row to push the South Shore Lumberjacks to the brink of elimination. Game 6 goes tonight in South Shore to see who will faceoff against the Yarmouth Mariners in the Eastlink South Final. The North Final is already set, the Summerside Western Capitals will tangle with the Campbellton Tigers.
QMJHL:
The Halifax Mooseheads lost the first 2 games of their playoff series against the Quebec Ramparts over the weekend. They’re going to be making the trip to Quebec for the next 3 games which is bad news for the Mooseheads.. Since they’re hosting the Memorial Cup, they make the finals anyway, but i’m sure the players wouldn’t like to be bounced in the first round after the year they’ve had.
The Moncton Wildcats and Baie-Comeau are tied at a game a piece.
The Charlottetown Islanders are up 2-0 against the Screaming Eagles
Soccer:
Canada’s men’s soccer team has qualified for the Gold Cup in next fall’s Nations League action. They swept all 4 pre-tournament games to get there.
NCAA:
A couple of big upsets in the tournament over the weekend as the Sweet 16 took shape, the #1 seeds are sticking around.
#1 Virginia will take on #12 Oregon.
#1 Duke will take on #4 Virginia Tech.
#3 Purdue will tangle with the #2 Tennessee Volunteers.
#2 Michigan State will tackle #3 LSU.
#1 Gonzaga will battle #4 Florida State
#1 North Carolina will play #5 Auburn
#2 Michigan Wolverines will go head to head against #3 Texas Tech,

The Raps dropped a heart breaker to Charlotte 115-114.
