Telus Cup:
Big start to the Telus Cup for the Province. The Halifax Mac’s opened up the tournament with a big 2-1 win over the Toronto Nationals. Josh Crooks scored both Halifax goals and Liam Oxner made 33 stops in the victory.
QMJHL:
Game 3 is tonight in both series,
The Ryoun Norana Huskies are up 2-0 against the Rimouski Oceanic.
The Halifax Mooseheads and Drummondville are tied at 1-1.
U-18 World Hockey Championship:
Team Canada is in action this afternoon against the Czech Republic, that puck drops at 2:30.
NBA:
Last night in basketball..
The Utah Jazz fended off elimination, at least for one night, they defeated the Rockets 107-91. Houston still has a commanding 3-1 series lead.
The Milwaukee Bucks have eliminated the Detroit Pistons in 4 straight games, the Bucks will now head to Boston for a date with the Celtics.
Tonight the Raptors are looking to advance to the second round, they take on Orlando with a 3-1 series lead.
MLB:

NHL:
The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Washington Capitals 5-2 to force Game 7. Warren Foegele, Teuvo Teravainen, Jordan Staal, Justin Williams and Dougie Hamilton scored for the Canes, Brett Connolly and Alex Ovechkin scored for the Caps. Petr Mrazek made 23 saves to earn the win.
The Dallas stars have done it, another upset in the Stanley Cup Playoffs as they send the Nashville Predators to the golf course in 6 games with a big goal in OT from John Klingberg to upend the Preds 2-1.
Paul MacLean’s agent has denied reports that he has accepted the head coaching job with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. Current rumblings speculate that MacLean is a front runner for the Anaheim Ducks head coaching job.
Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers broke a bone in his foot blocking a shot in Game 5 and therefor has declined an invitation from Team Denmark to play at the 2019 IIHF World Hockey Championships.
Patrik Laine will also skip the World Championships with a lingering back injury that has bothered him all season.
