Special Olympics:

The Pictou County Special Olympic Team has touched down in Toronto, the Bocce, Floor Hockey and Soccer teams had a great first day in tower city.

Fishing:

The Annual Fishing Derby hosted by Blue Mountain & District Volunteer Fire Department will be held June 1 from 6:30 am to 4 pm ..location is Government Wharf (beside Eden View Road) Eden Lake. This is a Nova Scotia Sport Fishing Weekend sanctioned event–fishing license is not necessary but standard regulations apply.

IIHF World Hockey Championships:

Team Canada picked up a win in a nail biter yesterday afternoon against Slovakia. Mark Stone scored for Canada with 1.8 seconds left in the game to lift the Canadians to a 6-5 victory.
Team Canada is off today and tomorrow, they play France Thursday morning at 11:15.

NHL:

The St Louis Blues picked up a big win against the Sharks 4-2 last night to even the Western Conference Finals at 1-1.
Jaden Schwartz, Vince Dunn, Robert Bortuzzo and Oskar Sundqvist with the goals for the Blues.
Logan Couture with a pair for San Jose. Jordan Binnington made 24 saves in the win.

Tonight is game 3 between the Bruins and Canes with the Bruins carrying a 2-0 series lead. That puck drops at 9pm.
