The Nighthawks and NNEC Gryphons are heading to rugby Provincials this weekend in Avon View.
The NNEC girls team is also taking part, after they won the regional banner on May 21 with a 48-5 victory over the CEC Cougars.
The Nighthawk girls rugby team will also be there for the first time in 16 years.
It’s also the first time all 4 local teams will be competing for a championship.
NHL:
It was overtime magic for the St Louis Blues as they won their first ever Stanley Cup finals game last night, beating the Bruins 3-2. Carl Gunnarsson scored the winner just 4 minutes into OT to tie the series at 1-1. The Blues have made the Stanley Cup Finals 3 previous times but never managed to win a game, getting swept all 3 times.
CFL:
The pre-season continues tonight, 8 teams in action with the Alouettes and Argonauts kicking off at noon.
MLB:
The Blue Jays dropped a close one last night to the Rays, Willy Adams hit a walk off single in the 11th to clinch the 4-3 win.
NBA:
Tonight’s the night. For the first time in history, the Toronto Raptors will play an NBA Finals game.
The Toronto Raptors will tip off against the defending champion, Golden State Warriors in Toronto, that game starts at 10pm.
