Baseball:
The New Glasgow Sullivan Fuels are off to the Tier 1 Baseball provincials August 16-18 in Stellarton. They guaranteed their spot this past weekend defeating Hants North Jays two games to none in a best of three series. They won the first game 15-5 and picked up an 11-2 victory in the second game.
NSJHL:
The Pictou County Subway Scotians will play eight games in the opening month of the season, averaging a game once every 3.5 days as they play in Cole Harbour and Eskasoni Sept 20 and Sept 29 and in Antigonish Oct 4 before opening at home Sunday Oct 6 against Cole Harbour. Another change coming to Junior Hockey in Nova Scotia in 19-20 is Hockey Canada has recently mandated full-facial protection for all levels below Junior A beginning on August 1, 2020.
Pan American Games:
Team Canada picked up 2 medals in Rugby 7’s at the Pan Am Games.
The Women defeated the United States 24-10 to win GOLD!
The Men lost their final 33-5 against Argentina.
MLB:
The Jays dropped a heartbreaker last night, the Rays scored 6 runs in the final 3 innings to comeback and beat the Jays 10-9.
