Local Ball:
The New Glasgow Sullivan Fuels Bantam AA Baseball team wrapped up their Nova Scotia Bluenose league schedule this past weekend defeating Tri-County 11-2 and 11-10 on Friday and had two more wins on Saturday over Dartmouth by scores of 13-6 and 2-0. They finish with a record of 15 wins and 3 losses.
Congratulations to the Highland Park Heat, they were the winners of the U12 Softball Championships at the Dorrington Ball Field in Stellarton this weekend. The Dartmouth She Devils finished in second place. The Stellarton Stingers fell to Dartmouth in the semi-finals.
MLB:
In baseball, the Jays dropped a close one to the Yankees 1-0 who scored their only run in the 5th inning. The Blue Jays kick off a series against the Rangers tonight at home.
CFL:
Week 9 is in the books in the CFL, the Hamilton Ti-Cats squeeked by the B.C. Lions on Saturday 35-34.
Edmonton beat Ottawa 16-12.
The Roughriders got the best of the Alouettes 17-10.

Pan AM Games:
Huge shout out to Halifax’s Ellie Black! She was named Canada’s flag-bearer for the Pan Am Games closing ceremonies. Ellie became the most decorated Canadian Pan Am gymnast ever. She won 5 medals this year which put her overall total to a Canadian best 10. Her pair of gold medals pushed her career total to 5, another Canadian record.
