Toronto will open their 2020-shortened season this Friday, when they travel to Tropicana Field to take on the Tampa Bay Rays.
Ryu Hyun-Jin will get the opening day pitching nod for the Jays.
Speaking of the Blue Jays, the federal government chose to not allow the team to play home games in Toronto this year because of the virus. So now the team is scrambling to find a new ballpark for the 2020 season. Buffalo’s Sahlen Field has come up in discussion but the majority of players would prefer a major league ballpark.

NFL players are publicly pleading with the league to address several health and safety concerns on the eve of training camp.
The league informed teams on Saturday that training camps will open on time even though discussions with the players’ union regarding testing for the coronavirus and other health and safety protocols are ongoing.
Rookies for Houston and Kansas City are set to report today and rookies for other teams are due tomorrow. Players for all teams are scheduled to report by July 28.
