Hockey:
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced Friday that it plans to return to play on Oct. 1 after “positive dialogue” with provincial governments and public health agencies. To allow for an Oct. 1 season start date, training camps will open Aug. 30 and be limited to 34 invitees per team. The regular season will include a 60-game schedule and the league will be divided into three divisions (as opposed to the usual four). All regular season games will be played within the six-team divisions, while the playoff format will be announced in December.
MLB:
The Blue Jays dropped both of their games yesterday, 7-5 and 3-2 to the Rays.
NBA:
The Nets and Raptors start their series today, the tip off for that one is 5pm.
NHL:
The Islanders defeated the Capitals 2-1 in OT to give them a commanding 3-0 series lead.
The Stars also needed OT to defeat the Flames 5-4 and tie that series at 2-2.
Chicago staved off elimination at the hands of the Golden Knights, defeating them 3-1. Vegas leads that series 3-1.
The Flyers defeated the Canadiens 1-0 to take the lead in that series 2-1.
The Blues needed a win and they got it, defeating the Canucks 3-2 in OT. The Canucks still hold a 2-1 series lead.
