Any athlete with a disability is welcome to try Challenger Baseball this Saturday from 8:30am-10:00am.  Then, starting at 11:00am, there will be a one day slow pitch tournament.  Any adult wishing to participate can contact Trevor Kearley 902-396-6378 or email twfkearley@hotmail.com  Cost is $20 and space is limited. Each player will be given an exclusive team shirt to play in the tournament.  This tournament is a fun tournament to celebrate baseball and its connection to Challenger Baseball’s program of inclusion.

Pictou County Challenger Baseball is a program for persons with physical and or cognitive disabilities.  Every year it sees a lot of athletes gain skills in baseball from running to hitting and everything in between. Its organizers say the most important thing is that they make lifelong friends and create lasting memories.

The Montreal Canadiens have signed new defenceman Joel Edmundson to a four-year contract with an average annual value of US$3.5 million.

The Minnesota Wild have acquired forward Marcus Johansson from the Buffalo Sabres, according to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger. Forward Eric Staal is heading to Buffalo in return, according to Dreger.
