ROAD RAGE EVENT ON HAS RCMP IN PICTOU COUNTY ASKING FOR YOUR HELP

Pictou County RCMP are looking for your help in finding a man involved in a road rage event Tuesday night on Highway 104 in Kenzieville. Around 7 o’clock that evening, a man driving a pick-up truck passed a vehicle and slowed to a full stop in front of it. The man got out of the truck and grabbed an object from the back of the truck, then ended up striking the victim’s windshield twice. He didn’t say a word, but got back in the truck and drove away. The man is described as white, six feet tall and wearing a blue hat. He was driving a black half-ton truck. If you can help, you’re asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
GAS PRICES UP IN NB AHEAD OF CHRISTMAS FILL-UPS

If we follow New Brunswick’s lead, gas and diesel prices could officially top the $1.00 per litre mark by midnight. Gas is 2.5 cents a litre more expensive in New Brunswick this morning. Diesel prices across the border are up by 2.3 cents, and Nova Scotia has generally been following suit the past few weeks. So watch for our price increases tonight.
FOUR NEW CASES OF COVID IN NOVA SCOTIA

Nova Scotia has 35 active cases of COVID-19 in the latest update. Four new cases are being reported, with two in the Halifax-Central Health Zone, one in the Eastern Zone covering Antigonish-Guysborough and Cape Breton and one in the Western Zone. That lone Western Zone case is close contact of a person previously infected.
The Eastern Zone case is not linked to the case reported in the Eskasoni First Nation last Saturday. A rapid pop-up testing site is now set up in Eskasoni. So far, with over 100 tests completed, they’ve had no positive cases in those Eskasoni results.
MODERNA VACCINE BEGINS ARRIVING IN CANADA WITHIN HOURS

There are always people working on Christmas Day across Canada. This year, we’ll all be that much more thankful with medical teams working to receive the new Moderna vaccine against COVID. Up to 168,000 doses are set to begin arriving in Canada tomorrow (Christmas Day) and on Boxing Day. We should have enough doses to cover two million Canadians by the end of March. And in total, Canada is slated to get 40 million doses of Moderna’s vaccine in 2021, enough to vaccinate 20 million people, or about two-thirds of the Canadian adult population. The vaccine is not yet recommended for use on children as tests on kids younger than 12 won’t begin until next year.
