Province extends self-isolation rules based on vaccination status to children

Nova Scotia is extending its self-isolation requirements for adult domestic travelers arriving in the province to children aged 12 to 17. Starting November 1st, youths who are not fully vaccinated will have to isolate for seven days and get two negative test results in Nova Scotia before leaving quarantine. The province required those under 18 to follow the rules for the least vaccinated adult they were traveling with when it shifted to isolation based on immunization status in June. But chief medical officer Dr. Robert Strang says there has been ample opportunity since then for children 12 and up to get vaccinated so it’s time to treat them the same as adults in the province’s border policy.
