The Special Olympics Nova Scotia Provincial Summer Games are being held this weekend at St. F X University in Antigonish.

Opening Ceremonies are set for today at 5:00 pm in the ST FX Oland Stadium.
Competition begins tonight at 7pm and wraps up on Sunday afternoon at venues in Antigonish.
In raising awareness of the Games, the Annual Nova Scotia Law Enforcement Torch Run is being held in Pictou County.
This year, the Law Enforcement Torch run is being held in conjunction with Michelin Torch Run so that will mean runners from law enforcement agencies and employees from Michelin will run throughout Pictou County.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the largest public awareness and grassroots fundraising organization for Special Olympics globally.
A police escort from various policing agencies throughout Nova Scotia will be leading runners carrying a torch in support of Special Olympics and the summer games.
It all begins with an opening ceremony at the Michelin Canada Granton Plant at 10:30 a.m. with the lighting of the Torch, and it will finish up at the New Glasgow Regional Police Station around 12:50pm.
