With a little help from the community, a pod of stranded dolphins made it back to the waters in Digby.
A woman who spotted the dolphins on a mudflat contacted the Marine Animal Response Society, and some friends to pull together a team to rescue the dolphins.
About four hours later — where people were covered in mud and had lost shoes and socks — all 16 stranded Atlantic white-sided dolphins went home and tired but elated rescuers trudged back to theirs.
A traffic note — be advised that the traffic lights on Westville Road/George Shaw Way (Walmart intersection) will be out of service on Tuesday from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a traffic controller replacement.
Temporary Stop signs will be installed and police will control traffic during the boot up. The intersection will function as a 4-Way stop for all traffic.
