Gas and diesel prices both went down in Nova Scotia overnight.
Gas prices dropped by 11.7 cents per litre, meaning the minimum pump price for regular self-serve gasoline is now 162.8 cents per litre locally.
Diesel prices decreased by 5.7 cents per litre, putting the minimum pump price for diesel at 257.3 cents per litre in the local area.
A 64-year old Valley woman died at the scene of a crash at about 7:00am Thursday on Hwy. 102 in Goffs.
The RCMP says she was a passenger in a half-ton truck that collided with an SUV and another truck before coming to rest in the median of the highway.
The driver of the vehicle in which she was a passenger, a 73-year old Valley man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.
The driver of the SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by EHS. The driver of the other truck was not injured.
The RCMP is continuing to investigate an alleged threat to Colchester Christian Academy in Bible Hill on Thursday.
The school was put into lockdown and RCMP were on scene conducting their investigation.
Shortly after 2:30pm, the Mounties said the investigation was continuing as the threat had not been corroborated.
A controlled dismissal of the school was conducted under the supervision of the RCMP.
The RCMP reported by 3:45pm that all staff and students had been safely dismissed from Colchester Christian Academy; RCMP officers had cleared the school and the lockdown was lifted.
Nova Scotia reported one new COVID-19 related death within the last week — but it also reported 15 more deaths from a previous a previous reporting period.

The head of pediatrics at Atlantic Canada’s largest children’s hospital says a perfect storm of COVID-19, influenza and respiratory viruses are driving extremely high patient numbers at the I-W-K children’s hospital in Halifax.
Dr. Andrew Lynk says there are consistently between 150 and 180 children in the emergency room each shift, with some shifts seeing 200 kids.
He says normally, the hospital would consider 120 patients in an emergency room shift to be very busy. Lynk says the current patient volumes are the highest he’s seen in a career of more than three decades.
