David Tobin-Chisholm was safely arrested by Pictou County District RCMP at about 6 p.m. Tuesday at a cabin in Six Mile Brook after information was received from the public.
Tobin-Chisholm was the subject of a province-wide arrest warrant.
In April 5th, Pictou County District RCMP responded to a report of a man in distress near Hedgeville Rd. in Hedgeville.
Police began making attempts to find Tobin-Chisholm, and after locating a stolen vehicle he was reportedly driving and hearing from witnesses that a man fleeing the vehicle may have been armed, an Emergency Alert was issued.
That Alert was later cancelled.
The charges Tobin-Chisholm faces according to the warrant include Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose; Engaging in Threatening Conduct; Break and Enter with Intent; Uttering Threats; Mischief; and Theft under $5,000.
Pictou County District RCMP have charged a man with firearms offences after an incident in Plymouth.
Late Sunday morning, RCMP responded to a report of a man in distress at a home on Jean St. in Plymouth.
As officers arrived at the scene, they saw bullet holes in the front window of the home.
The area was secured and RCMP officers began communicating with the man inside.
At about 12:45pm the man surrendered to officers and was safely arrested.
The 45-year old Plymouth man has been charged with a number of firearms offences.
The federal government has announced that it will spend close to $4-million on fighting substance abuse in Atlantic Canada.
The money will go toward nine community-led projects across the region through Health Canada’s Substance Use and Addictions Program.
$2.3-million is earmarked for Nova Scotia.
Nova Scotia Works Career Connections in New Glasgow is hosting this year’s Pictou County Job Fair on Wednesday, April 26th from 10am to 3pm at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.
The Job Fair aims to help connect local job seekers and employers.
The public is welcome to stop by and visit with over 55 employers and service providers, and there is no cost to attend.
A number of new electric vehicle chargers are up and running in Downtown New Glasgow.
They are located on Glasgow Street (across from the Farmer’s Market) and on the corner of Dalhousie and Archimedes Street (across from the Library).
Next Drive will be in New Glasgow on Thursday to offer electric vehicle test drives to community members at the Town Bell on Dalhousie Street.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held later in the day.
