Gasoline prices rose overnight in Nova Scotia while diesel prices went down.
The price of gasoline increased by 2.7 cents per litre, putting the minimum pump price for regular self-serve gas at 169.4 cents per litre locally.
Diesel prices decreased by 4.7 cents per litre, putting the minimum pump price for diesel at 154.5 cents per litre in the local area.
New Glasgow Regional Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man and Kia Rio car that were involved in an altercation on Duchess Avenue in the tennis courts parking lot on Thursday at about 8:30 a.m.
Police say there’s no further information available as the man immediately drove off at a high rate of speed.
The man is described as being in the 30-40 years of age range, with an average build, and wearing a striped shirt.
The vehicle is described as a 2010-2011 Kia Rio.
New Glasgow Regional Police have released a photo of the vehicle as part of their investigation, and we have posted that picture.

A warning from New Glasgow Regional Police about some recent fraudulent emails notifying the recipient that they have been fined for speeding with the use of “speed cameras”.
The email provides a case number, fine amount, and a link to review the purported “photo proof”.
But, it’s a scam. Police say no government agency or police will ever use this type of communication to notify people that they have been charged with an offense or to collect fines or personal information.
If you receive such an email, delete it.
Cumberland County District RCMP say 54-year old Leland Lynds of Wentworth, who was the subject of an arrest warrant and charged with a firearms offense after an incident March 21 in Wentworth, has been arrested by New Brunswick RCMP in Sussex.
Lynds is charged with Unsafe Storage of a Firearm; and Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order.
Police had sought the public’s assistance in locating Lynds, and had warned that he was possibly armed.
Pictou West MLA Karla MacFarlane says the Town of Pictou will receive more than $380-thousand and the Municipality of the County of Pictou just over $1-million for a variety of projects.
The funding can be used for projects that include the creation of services, accessibility, housing and improvements to transportation services.
The recipients will have until March 31, 2025 to spend the funding and demonstrate the positive impact it has on the community.
The latest estimates for COVID-19 cases in Nova Scotia Health facilities are in, with 12 people hospitalized with the illness and one in I-C-U.
There were 74 people in hospital for something else but who also have COVID-19.
There were 82 Nova Scotia Health employees off work yesterday due to a positive diagnosis for the virus, awaiting results of a
COVID-19 test, or being exposed to a member of their household who was infected.
