A hike in diesel prices overnight in Nova Scotia.
The Utility and Review Board invoked the Interrupter Clause to increase diesel prices by 7.6 cents per litre.
The minimum pump price for diesel is now 210.0 cents per litre in the local area.
There’s no change in gasoline prices.
The RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 28-year-old Dylan Randall Francis, who was last seen on October 13 in Millbrook.
Francis is described as 6-foot-2, slim build. He has light brown hair, a mustache and blue eyes.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dylan Randall Francis is asked to contact Millbrook RCMP or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.
RCMP officers, together with the Truro Police Service, continue to search for 52-year-old Darren Trevor Jackson. Jackson was the subject of an emergency alert that had been issued Sunday night in connection with a shooting incident in Brookfield.
On Monday, that emergency alert was cancelled as investigators determined it was a targeted incident and there was no threat to the public.
The dark 2016 GMC Sierra that was being driven by Jackson was located Monday in Truro by the Truro Police Service.
The truck was seized and at last word it was unknown if Jackson was on foot, or travelling in a different vehicle.
Police do warn that Jackson not be approached if he is seen and anyone who knows where Jackson may be is to contact police or CrimeStoppers.
Nova Scotians can now apply for a $600 rebate on their heating bills this year through the Heating Assistance Rebate Program.
Families earning up to $75,000 or single-income households earning up to $55,000 are eligible, whether they rent or own.
Since 2009, the program has offered a rebate of up to a $200 to single-income households earning $29,000, and families earning $44,000.
Last year, the rebate was temporarily increased to $1,000.
Application forms are available online, at Access Nova Scotia, Community Services and MLA offices.
The New Brunswick legislature is scheduled to begin its fall session this morning amid uncertainty about whether the premier will call an early election.
The calendar says the legislature will be prorogued and a new session will open this afternoon with a throne speech.
Progressive Conservative Premier Blaine Higgs has been besieged by internal turmoil since June when six members of his party voted against the government on a motion related to the province’s policy on gender identity in schools.
Election speculation has hummed all summer as Higgs has kept the province on the precipice, saying the rebel Tories could make it difficult for him to govern.
