Colchester RCMP closed a section of Highway 104 Eastbound neat Exit 18A Kemptown Tuesday night due to a serious single vehicle collision.
Detours had been put in place and shortly after 10:00pm it was opened to one lane.
Valley Kemptown Fire and EHS also responded to the scene.
No further details have been released by police.
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland presented her fiscal update in the House of Commons Tuesday, stressing the pressure inflation and a slowing economy are putting on federal finances — while acknowledging the housing and cost-of-living crisis.
She says the federal government is earmarking 15-billion-dollars for low-cost loans to developers as well as one-billion-dollars for affordable housing.
The government is also expanding its recently announced measure to remove G-S-T charges off rental developments to include co-op rental housing.
The Province is building new student housing at four Nova Scotia Community College campuses to provide students with more affordable options and ease pressure on the local housing supply.
About 270 more beds in total will be built at the NSCC Kingstec campus in Kentville, Cumberland campus in Springhill, Lunenburg campus in Bridgewater and the Institute of Technology in Halifax.
This investment is in addition to the 3 facilities that are already under construction – including the Pictou Campus which will have 50 beds and be opening in fall 2024.
A minor hockey coach in Nova Scotia is facing an assault charge after a referee was allegedly punched during a game on the weekend.
R-C-M-P in Colchester County say they received a complaint Saturday morning from an arena in Brookfield.
The coach had left the rink before police arrived, but he later turned himself in to police.
The Mounties say the official was not injured, and the coach has been suspended indefinitely.
The Town of New Glasgow hosts its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30pm tonight at Glasgow Square Theatre.
