The Liberal government says getting a Canada Pharmacare Act passed by the end of 2023 is unlikely, despite the commitment contained in the supply-and-confidence deal with the New Democrats.
Government House leader Karina Gould says the two parties are still hammering out the details of the bill.
Peter Julian, the N-D-P House leader, says the New Democrats are still hoping a pharmacare bill can be introduced but acknowledges the government needs more time.
Nova Scotia and Halifax are issuing development agreements that could lead to the construction of over two-thousand homes in suburban Bedford West.
The developments would include town house-style units, semi-attached and single-family units.
The province says in a statement that bylaw and zoning amendments needed to support the development agreements have also been approved.
It says the municipal planning office will now enter into the development agreements with the proponents.
The Nova Scotia government has announced a replacement for the North Queens Nursing Home in Queens County.
Public Works Minister Kim Masland says a new long-term care facility is expected to open in 2032.
It will provide single rooms for about 48 seniors.
The new facility is part of the province’s plan to add 22-hundred rooms to the long-term care sector.
R-C-M-P are reminding people to be on the lookout for porch pirates. They say officers are regularly called for incidents involving theft of packages from outside people’s homes this time of year.
Residents are advised to reduce their risk of theft by either scheduling deliveries for when they are at home or choosing a secure delivery locker or pickup location.
R-C-M-P also encourage residents to report every incident of theft or suspicious activity.
