Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement advising of a potential significant storm on Wednesday in Nova Scotia. The agency says that while it is too early to provide specific details, strong winds, heavy rain, and snow will accompany this system. Strong winds and snow will begin on Wednesday morning, before snow transitions to rain across much of Nova Scotia by Wednesday afternoon.

Nova Scotia’s health authority says fewer than one-quarter of the province’s health-care workers have received influenza vaccines so far this flu season.
Nova Scotia Health says that as of December 14th, 22.5 per cent of health-care employees had confirmed receiving the vaccine.
According to the provincial Health Department’s website, that’s the lowest flu vaccination rate in at least a decade.
A spokeswoman for the authority says some health-care workers may have been vaccinated at local pharmacies and clinics, without informing their employer because there is no obligation to do so.

Digital Radiography Room #3 at the Aberdeen Hospital has been renovated, and that includes the installation of a new GE Definium digital x-ray unit.
The Aberdeen Health Foundation committed more than $600,000 to the project, fully funding the equipment and contributing towards the renovations that were necessary for the space.
Work was completed this past Spring, and the upgrades came just in time, with the growth of the hospital’s orthopedic program causing an influx of patients.
