Environment Canada has issued Snowfall Warnings for Pictou and Antigonish Counties with total amounts of about 10 to 15 cm expected today. Winds will be increasing through the day as well with gusts to 70kh causing blowing snow in areas, resulting in reduced visibility on the roads. The snow is to end late this afternoon

The Town of New Glasgow is participating in the Activate Your Neighbourhood provincial placemaking pilot project and is looking for community members to join in.
The Town says residents interested in learning about how to create a more active and connected neighbourhood through tactical placemaking, contact New Glasgow’s Active Living Manager.
The largest quartz crystal ever found in Nova Scotia will soon be on display at the Museum of Natural History in Halifax.
The six-sided crystal weighs 145 pounds and is almost a metre long.
It was discovered in 1906 near New Ross.
The crystal will soon be part of a new mineral display at the museum.
A sports note, the Pictou County Weeks Crushers lost 7-5 to Truro in the maritime Junior Hockey League on Sunday.
