Regional Emergency Measures Organization Pictou County is in the process of setting up an emergency hotline for people to call if they are experiencing a storm-related issue and need assistance as a result of the snowstorm.
Officials say the number will be shared as soon as it is established.

The Town of New Glasgow advised Wednesday that Public Works crews are carrying out overnight snow removal operations in the Downtown area.
As a result of work that started last night, street closures in effect until 8:00am this morning include Provost St. (George St. to Jury St.); including George St. (Riverside Pky. to Archimedes St.)
The Thursday night closure, from 10:00 PM tonight to 7:00 AM Friday, includes Archimedes St. (George St. – Jury St.)
The mayor of the largest municipality in Cape Breton says she’s glad that large snowplows are converging on Sydney, where 150 centimetres of snow fell last weekend.
Amanda McDougall says the smaller plows used by the Cape Breton Regional Municipality have been breaking down because they can’t deal with so much heavy, wet snow – which is now starting to freeze solid.
McDougall says she wept when a massive snowplow showed up to clear her street in Sydney, where she and her family have been trapped since the weekend.
Meanwhile, McDougall says that as the cleanup continues, she’s not aware of any fuel or food shortages, mainly because the link between the island and the mainland – the Canso Causeway – has remained open.
The Nova Scotia RCMP Major Crimes Unit launched a confidential hotline as part of the investigation into reports of sexual assault that occurred at the Nova Scotia Youth Centre, “Waterville,” between the years of 1988 and 2017.
Survivors who investigators have not yet spoken with, and anyone with information, are asked to call the confidential Operation Headwind hotline at 902-720-5313; the toll-free number is 1-833-314-3475.
The confidential hotline is monitored Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Outside of those hours, a confidential voicemail is available.
