The RCMP says there is no information to suggest there is a wider risk to the public related to a double homicide. Two bodies were found in a burned car on November 9th in Greenhill setting off the murder investigation. The remains have been identified as those of 32-year-old Kelly Trask of Truro, and 34-year-old Tyler Meagher of Grand Prairie, Alberta. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the deaths to contact the Northeast Nova Major Crime Unit.

On this National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, there’s a candlelight vigil at 6:00pm at Trenton Main Station. Today marks 35 years since the Montreal Massacre at l’École Polytechnique, and the fourteen women murdered in the Montreal Massacre of 1989 will be remembered.
Also today, the Pictou County Interagency on Family Violence will be hosting Brenda’s Walk for Change. Brenda’s Walk is named in memory of Brenda Tatlock who was murdered by her spouse. The walk is to bring awareness to Intimate Partner Violence. Brenda’s Walk will start at the Laurie Peace Park in New Glasgow at 3:00 p.m. and will continue throughout downtown New Glasgow.
Gasoline prices and diesel prices both decreased overnight in Nova Scotia. Gasoline prices decreased by 3.7 cents per litre. The minimum pump price for regular self-serve gasoline is now 154.4 cents per litre in the local area. Diesel prices went down by 2.0 cents per litre, meaning the minimum pump price for diesel is 172.3 cents per litre locally.
Nova Scotia Health says there are now over 119-thousand people on a provincial registry for residents needing doctors.
The health authority says as of November 27th, just over two-thousand people on the list confirmed they have a provider.
It says 11.3 per cent of Nova Scotia’s population is on the list in search of a family doctor.
Due to weather conditions the 7:00am crossing from Wood Islands and 8:30am crossing from Caribou have been cancelled for this morning. The weather conditions on Thursday had forced Northumberland Ferries to cancel all sailings for the day yesterday. The ferry company says the mechanical issues that had cut short Wednesday’s return to service for the MV Confederation have been resolved. The vessel went back into service Wednesday morning before the mechanical issues developed, having been out of service for over 10 weeks as it underwent repairs following a collision September 15th at the wharf in Wood Islands.
