Talks between Canada Post and the postal workers’ union are set to resume today.
The two sides are set to head back to the bargaining table as an overtime ban remains in effect.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers says the Crown corporation plans to respond to counter-proposals the union presented on Sunday.
Some key issues in the labour dispute include wages and other forms of compensation, along with the potential of more part-time staff and weekend delivery.
The consumer carbon price appears to be on its way out for good.
Prime Minister Mark Carney used a regulation back in March to set the price of the consumer carbon price to zero.
It comes as the government signalled that it intends to repeal the law altogether now that Parliament is back in session.
Carney has said he will strengthen the industrial carbon pricing policy, which is expected to account for a bigger cut to emissions than the consumer price.
During Canada Road Safety Week, more than ten percent of vehicles stopped by the Nova Scotia RCMP during proactive enforcement efforts resulted in charges.
Over the seven days of Road Safety Week, enforcement by RCMP officers in the province resulted in 54 Criminal Code charges for impaired, 22 provincial roadside suspensions, and almost 1,000 summary offence tickets. Tickets were primarily for distracted driving, aggressive driving and not wearing a seatbelt.
The Town of Pictou is advising that there will be a water outage today due to capital work on Constitution Street beginning at approximately 10:00 am. The area affected with the outage will be High Street from Palmerston Street to Patterson Street.
