Gasoline prices decreased overnight in Nova Scotia, while diesel prices increased. The price of regular gasoline decreased by 3.6 cents per litre, putting the minimum pump price for regular self-serve gasoline at 141.3 cents per litre in the local area. Diesel prices increased by 1.8 cents per litre, meaning the minimum pump price for diesel is 154.6 cents per litre locally.

New Glasgow Regional Police are asking for the public’s assistance as they investigate an arson at the Pizza Delight on East River Road in New Glasgow. The fire occurred Tuesday sometime between 1:00am and 2:00am. The preliminary investigation determined that the fire was deliberately set. Police say the building sustained substantial damage to the interior. Anyone with any information is asked to contact New Glasgow Regional Police or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.
The Nova Scotia government is celebrating what it calls a successful first year of its school lunch program. The Education Minister says the government is doing everything it can to make life easier and more affordable for families. The program has served more than 4.7-million lunches across the province. The government says more than 100-thousand students in 334 schools are getting a nutritious lunch through the program.
People First Pictou County is celebrating Disability Pride today at Glasgow Square in New Glasgow. At 11:00 AM there’s a Flag Raising Ceremony; followed by the Disability Pride Parade Walk at 11:30 AM. From 12:00–3:00 PM there’s Family Fun at Glasgow Square with an afternoon of free pizza, guest speakers, displays and activities, karaoke, and live entertainment – all in celebration of inclusion, visibility, and pride in the disability community.
