We are expecting messy weather ahead beginning this morning and continuing into early Tuesday morning. An Alberta Clipper is set to bring snow and gusty winds to the entire province throughout the day today.
Snow will begin early Monday morning over southwestern Nova Scotia and spread east across the province through the morning. Strong northwesterly winds will also develop Monday afternoon along with a drop in temperatures, bringing blowing snow at times into Monday night.
Monday Afternoon into Early Tuesday morning we are expecting snow squall conditions across Pictou County that could reduce visibility to near zero at times. Please drive carefully.
Due to the high wind forecast in the Northumberland Strait, Northumberland Ferries says that the 10:00am, 3:00pm, and 6:00pm sailings from Wood Islands, and 11:45am, 4:30pm, and 7:30pm crossings from Caribou today have all been cancelled.

34-year old Stephen Joseph “Dakota” Maloney of Colchester County, who was wanted on a province-wide warrant, has been arrested.
The Colchester District Community Action Team, with the assistance of Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit and East Hants Street Crime Enforcement Unit, made the arrest in Belmont. Maloney is facing a charge of Failure to Comply with Release Order.
The RCMP thanks the public for its support in locating Maloney.
Justice Minister and Central Nova MP Sean Fraser says the federal government will spend close to 40-million dollars to support Atlantic Canada’s growing aerospace and defence sector. Fraser says businesses in the region can now apply to the Regional Defence Investment Initiative. He says the initiative is aimed at helping Atlantic Canada’s defence businesses grow, modernize and win more global contracts. The 38.2 million dollars from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency will mostly help small and medium-sized enterprises expand capabilities, boost productivity and connect to defence supply chains.
About two-thousand customers near Halifax remain under a boil-water advisory following a major water main break affecting several communities.
Halifax Water says pipe repairs are complete, but waterway testing is still ongoing and the advisory will stay in effect until further notice.
