Investigators have recovered the so-called “black boxes” from an Air Canada plane involved in a deadly crash at a New York airport.
U-S National Transportation Safety Board chair Jennifer Homendy says crews cut a hole in the roof of the plane to retrieve the flight recorders.

A judge is expected to have a ruling this summer on a proposed settlement for a class-action lawsuit after an Air Canada flight crash landed in Halifax in 2015.
The law firms involved in the class action say the hearing is scheduled for June 22nd in Nova Scotia’s Supreme Court.
Under the terms of the settlement, Air Canada, Nav Canada, and the Halifax International Airport Authority would pay a settlement of more than 18-million dollars.

New Glasgow Regional Police have charged a Pictou County man with impaired driving following a traffic stop. The traffic stop was initiated after an officer spotted a vehicle with no tail lights visible travelling Northbound on North Provost Street. It resulted in a 40-year old Pictou County man being arrested and charged with impaired driving. He’s scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on May 4th.

The award-winning musical tells the true story of the seven-thousand stranded passengers who were taken in by the town of Gander, in Newfoundland, after the terrorists attacks on September 11th, 2001. The 90-minute show features 15 performers and a live band.
