NSJHL:
The Pictou County Scotians are on the ropes against the Jr. Miners. Game 5 goes tomorrow night in Membertou. The Pictou County Jr B Scotians are down 3-1 in the series but are looking to bounce back with a couple of big wins. That puck drops tomorrow night at 7:30.
PCMHL:
The Peewee AAA Crushers hosted the Halifax Hawks Peewee AAA’s on Saturday March 2nd at the Hector Arena in Pictou. In a very fast paced game the host Crushers beat the visiting Hawks 2-1. Scoring for the Crushers were Keegan Dalton and Caden Campbell. The Crushers next see action Saturday March 8th – 10th when they travel to Yarmouth to compete in the NS Mainland League Championships. Pictou County Minor Hockey Association is doing our final ticket collection for PCMHA Lottery today from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Pictou County Wellness Centre upstairs in the conference room.
The Grand Prize Draw is Friday March 8th at 5:00 pm at the Pictou County Wellness Centre for $35,000.
Tickets can be purchased from any child playing hockey in Pictou County.

MHL:
One game last night in MHL action, the Campbellton Tigres beat Miramichi 5-2.
The Crushers are in action tomorrow night against the South Shore Lumberjacks in a battle for that final playoff spot. The Lumberjacks have hopped the Truro Bearcats into 3rd place in the Eastlink South division but both clubs have 53 points. The Crushers sit 2 points back of the Bearcats for that final playoff spot with a game in hand and only 2 games left to play. They’ll play South Shore at home tomorrow and South Shore at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre Friday night.
AUS:
A big win by the St. Thomas Tommies forced a deciding game in the Subway AUS championship final series with a hard fought 4-3 victory. The winner of Thursday’s game will not only be crowed 2019 AUS champions but will also punch their ticket to the U SPORTS championship, slated for March 14-17 in Charlottetown, P.E.I.
MLB:
22 days left until opening day on March 28th, spring training continues as the Jays beat Detroit 5-2.
NBA:
The Raptors dropped a heart breaker to James Harden and the Rockets, 107-95. James harden lead the scoring for Houston with 35 points. Kawhi Leonard had 26 for the Raps.
QMJHL:

The Mooseheads blanked the Olympic, 1-0.
Chicoutimi defeated the surging Oceanic, 4-1.
NHL:
A full slate of NHL games last night,
The Bruins found a way to beat the Hurricanes in OT 4-3.
The Blue Jackets beat the Devils in a shootout, 2-1.
The Islanders also needed a shootout to dump the Sens 5-4.
The Penguins got an OT winner from Jake Guentzel to defeat the Panthers 3-2.
The Lightning got their 51st win of the year over the Jets 5-2.
The Preds shocked the Wild in a shootout 5-4.
The Stars defeated the Rangers 1-0.
Nova Scotia’s Nathan MacKinnon with the OT winner as Colorado beat the Red Wings 4-3. (Former Halifax Moosehead, Fillip Zadina scored his 1st career NHL goal with a one-timer in the 3rd period)
The Ducks upended the Yotes 3-1.
The Canadiens beat the Kings 3-1. (Jordan Weal scored his 1st goal with the Canadiens after being acquired at the deadline)
