Gas prices went down slightly overnight in Nova Scotia, but there’s no change in diesel prices.
Gas prices went down by 2.5 cents per litre, putting the minimum price for regular self serve gas at 204.5 cents per litre locally.
Diesel continues to cost you 222.6 cents per litre.
Nova Scotia is reporting seven additional deaths and an increase in hospitalizations in its latest weekly report on COVID-19.
Health officials say there were 37 new hospitalizations due to the virus over the week that ended on Monday.
That was up from 28 the previous week but the number of new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 dropped to 1420.
That was down from one-thousand-950 the week before and health officials say they are encouraged to see another week of decreasing COVID activity.
An R-C-M-P regimental memorial service will be held next week in Nova Scotia for Constable Heidi Stevenson.
She was one of 22 people killed in April 2020 during the worst mass shooting in modern Canadian history.
The R-C-M-P says the private ceremony in Cole Harbour is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p-m.
The service will start once a procession of uniformed officers arrives at Cole Harbour Place after marching along the Forest Hills Parkway from Saint Vincent de Paul Church.
Nova Scotia’s Liberal party received the most donation dollars of any of the province’s political parties in 2021, with about 1.16 million dollars.
Elections Nova Scotia says the governing Progressive Conservatives that took power in August 2021 received the second most in donations with about 800-thousand-700 dollars.
Nova Scotia’s New Democratic Party received the third most donor dollars at 651-thousand-500 dollars in 2021.
Nova Scotia’s Green Party received about 25-thousand-500 dollars in donations last year.
After two years without the traditional festival, there will be a full schedule of events for Stellarton Homecoming 2022 taking place from July 20 to 24!
Mayor Danny MacGillivray says that in a mix of tradition and fresh ideas, they are holding the Saturday night dance outside in the parking lot behind Town Hall.
