Minor Hockey:
DAY OF CHAMPIONS 2019 gets underway today at Truro’s Rath Eastlink Centre.
Over the next three days, 14 provincial champions will be crowned.
The Pictou County Midget A Crushers will be on the ice this afternoon at 1, they play South Shore.
The Pictou County Bantam A Crushers will face off against the Tasa Ducks at 5pm tonight.
The PeeWee A Crushers take on Yarmouth tomorrow at 10:30am.

The Bantam AA Provincials started yesterday in Yarmouth. The Pictou County Crushers picked up a big win, 3-2 over Acadia. They play this afternoon at 2pm and this evening at 8pm.
Women’s Hockey:
Last night, Team Canada picked up a big 5-0 win against Team Germany to advance to the Semifinal where they will take on Finland. Stellarton’s Blayre Turnbull had a pair of goals in the win.
That game against Finland takes place tomorrow morning at 9am.
QMJHL:
Last night in the Q, the Ryoun Noranada Huskies eliminated Victoriaville 4-0, defeating them 6-2.
Rimouski took a commanding lead 3-1 over the Screaming Eagles, taking them down 5-2.
Masters:
Day 1 of the Masters is in the books, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka are tied with the lead at 6 under… Canadian Corey Conners sits tied for 11th shooting 2 under par. Tiger Woods is also tied for 11th.

MLB:
Jose Quintana struck out 11 batters as the Cubbies shut the door on the Pirates 2-0.
The bats were swinging for the Jays, they scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning but a late rally in the 9th put the Red Sox over the top, they managed to beat the Jays 7-6.
NBA:
The playoffs are here and the Raptors are looking to make some noise.
Their series against the Orlando Magic begins tomorrow night at 7pm.
NHL:
The Flames put a beating on the Avalanche… Fitting though? With a few days before Game of Thrones comes out we really do have a battle of fire and ice… The first game goes to fire… Calgary wins 4-0.
The Washington Capitals held off the Hurricanes to take game 1 4-2.
Bookies were happy in Toronto, they made some people a lot of mulah with their 4-1 romp of the Boston Bruins in game 1.
