Pictou County is under a Wind Warning and Rainfall Warning.
Very strong southerly winds are expected on Thursday with maximum wind gusts of 90 to 100 km/h.
Those winds will be accompanied by 25 to 50 mm in rainfall.
On Monday afternoon, New Glasgow Regional Police arrested a Pictou County man who was wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant out of New Glasgow.
Police say the arrest was made in Pictou County and was in regards to a traffic stop on Park Street in Trenton during which the passenger fled the scene.
Police say he had an arrest warrant for a Breach of a Conditional Sentence Order.
Two municipalities and a community group in Cumberland County will receive provincial funding to help bring more healthcare professionals to their communities and support those already living and working there.
The Pugwash Physician Recruitment/Appreciation Committee will use the funds to develop marketing materials to recruit healthcare professionals to their community, host appreciation events for healthcare workers already living in the Pugwash area and host an education/retreat day for doctors enrolled in Dalhousie University’s rural residency program.
The Town of Amherst and the Municipality of Cumberland will work together on a promotional campaign to attract healthcare professionals.
The funding is from the government’s new Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment Community Fund.
A total of 28 groups across Nova Scotia applied by the December 19 deadline, and more successful applicants will be notified in the coming weeks.

Nova Scotians on the mainland scored 86 nominations while musicians on Cape Breton nabbed another 20.
Newfoundland and Labrador is next with 58 nominations, followed by New Brunswick with 40 and P-E-I with 29.
