There is a Snowfall Warning in place now from Environment Canada for Pictou County with 15 to 20 cm possible tonight into Tuesday.
Conditions will deteriorate rapidly this evening as snow at times heavy and strong northeast winds give poor visibilities in blowing snow over exposed areas.
Central Nova MP Sean Fraser; Premier Tim Houston; New Glasgow Mayor Nancy Dicks; and Stellarton Mayor Danny MacGillivray have announced joint funding of over $593,000 for Pictou County Transit’s fixed-route transit system.
The system provides public transit service in New Glasgow and Stellarton.
With the funding, the Pictou County Transit Authority will purchase two new buses and establish five new bus stops.

Some varieties of Nova Scotia wines are going to be unavailable for a few years due to the cold first weekend of February.
Steve Ells — president of the Grape Growers Association of Nova Scotia — says it’s unlikely the vineyards will be able to harvest Nova Scotia-grown vinifera grapes — including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling — this year.
Ells says the best case scenario is that the vineyards will rebound in a couple of years.
