Nova Scotians are being asked to pause for a moment of silence today at noon to remember the 22 people killed three years ago during the worst mass shooting in modern Canadian history.

They will stay that way until tomorrow at sunset.
About 155-thousand federal public service employees — including workers from the Canada Revenue Agency — are poised to walk off the job on Wednesday.
The Public Service Alliance of Canada says workers will strike if a deal isn’t reached with the federal government by this evening.
Chris Aylward, the union’s national president, says members are frustrated as negotiations drag on and they continue to fall behind.
The biggest sticking point in the talks appears to be pay, with the union calling for raises to keep up with the rising cost of living.
As of tomorrow, masks will no longer be required in public areas of Nova Scotia courthouses.
Officials say it will be up to the presiding judge to determine if masks will be required in courtrooms.
Masks had remained mandatory because court proceedings — particularly those involving criminal matters — can involve vulnerable segments of the population.
However, officials say other organizations in the justice system, including correctional facilities, have since lifted their masking requirements.
The coronation of King Charles III is to be marked by a series of events in Halifax.
The events culminate with a live viewing of the coronation and outdoor reception on May 6th at the lieutenant-governor’s official residence.
Lieutenant-Governor Arthur LeBlanc has announced a full program for May and June including the opening of an exhibit dedicated to King Charles on May 2nd, the unveiling of the King’s portrait on May 31st and a coronation garden party on June 22nd.
The public events at Government House and Province House are free to attend, with tickets being allocated in advance via a lottery.
