Pictou County District RCMP report that a 17-year-old youth reported missing from Plymouth has been found safe.

A Nova Scotia man wanted in regards to sexual assaults involving a child, which occurred in Colchester County, was arrested in Manitoba.
In April, the Winkler Police Service received information that two men were hitchhiking in the area, and that one of the hitchhikers was believed to be from Nova Scotia.
Winkler officers knew of an abandoned vehicle found the previous day that was reported stolen in Nova Scotia, and the vehicle was associated to a wanted Nova Scotia man.
The hitchhiker was quickly located, identified and arrested.
The man, who’s from Colchester County, was remanded into custody and brought back to Nova Scotia.
In addition to the sexual assault charges, which are from 2020, the man is charged with Motor Vehicle Theft and Failure to Comply with an Undertaking.
He has since appeared in Truro Provincial Court and was sentenced to more than nine years for the sexual assault offences and Failure to Comply with an Undertaking.
Nova Scotia’s environment minister has approved two new wind farms – one in the Cobequid hills and the other in southwestern Nova Scotia.
The Higgins Mountain wind farm project will see up to 17 turbines erected near Wentworth, while the Wedgeport wind farm project in Little River Harbour, near Yarmouth, will include up to 13 turbines.
Construction on the Higgins Mountain project is scheduled to begin next year and the Wedgeport project will get underway this fall.
A partnership of Sipekne’katik First Nation, Elemental Energy Renewables Inc. and Stevens Wind Ltd. is heading up both wind farms.
An interpretive centre that tells the story of the ship Hector — which arrived in Pictou Harbour in 1773 — is receiving an upgrade.
The ship carried 189 passengers and was one of the earliest arrivals of Scottish settlers to Canada.
The Ship Hector Society is receiving 2.1 million dollars from the province to upgrade the Interpretive Centre and update the exhibits.
September 2023 will mark the 250th anniversary of the Hector’s arrival in Nova Scotia.
