Pictou County District RCMP have charged a man after a fatal single vehicle crash in MacLellans Brook.
On Saturday at about 4:10 a.m., RCMP, fire and EHS all responded to the crash on Brookville Rd. in MacLellans Brook.
In their investigation, police learned that a vehicle travelling on Brookville Rd. left the road and rolled.
There were two passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash — a 23-year-old Trenton woman and a 23-year-old Stellarton man — and both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 23-year-old Hillside man, was not injured. Police say the driver was showing signs of impairment and failed a roadside screening device test.
He was then arrested for Impaired Driving Causing Death.
The four Atlantic premiers will be meeting today on Prince Edward Island.

Firefighters from three provinces, the United States and the federal Department of National Defence were in Shelburne County yesterday to battle the largest wildfire in the province’s history.
There were 139 firefighters tackling the massive blaze near Barrington Lake, including five from PEI and 14 from Newfoundland and Labrador.
Seventeen firefighters were from the U-S and 33 were from the Department of National Defence, while members of local volunteer and municipal fire crews were standing by.
The Barrington Lake fire has grown to about 235 square kilometres since it first broke out on May 27th.
Provincial officials say it remains out of control, but it has stopped spreading.
Helicopters began using infrared scanners on the weekend to detect hotspots among the smoldering wildfires in Nova Scotia.
The provincial government says the scanners will help ground crews extinguish the fires for good.

The company says it reviews fundraisers to ensure that the money raised goes to the right recipients.

Police say a woman in central Nova Scotia has been fined nearly 29-thousand-dollars for having an unsupervised outdoor fire in the midst of a provincewide fire ban.
R-C-M-P Corporal Chris Marshall says officers responded to reports of an open fire on private property on Friday afternoon in the community of Lantz, about 50 kilometres north of Halifax.
Marshall says they found an unsupervised fire burning in a firepit and used a hose to douse the flames.
He says they gave a woman in the home on the property a ticket for igniting a blaze which carries a fine of 28-thousand-872 dollars.
Tickets go on sale today for the 2023 North American Indigenous Games opening ceremonies in Halifax.
The event takes place on July 16th at the Scotiabank Centre.
The opening ceremonies kick off this year’s games, which will welcome nearly five-thousand Indigenous youth to the city from over 756 Nations.
The youth will compete in 16 different sports until the games wrap up on July 23rd.
