A physician and addictions specialist says being equipped to administer naloxone is one way Canadians can play an active part in responding to the opioid epidemic.

Some volunteer fire services in Nova Scotia say budgets are tighter because of the federal carbon tax and they want an exemption.
The Municipality of the District of Barrington and the
Municipality of the District of Yarmouth have asked Ottawa to remove the carbon tax on volunteer emergency service providers who are struggling with higher gasoline prices for their vehicles.
In October, the federal government paused the carbon tax on home heating oil for three years, which has been a help to volunteer fire departments that use the fuel.
However, a spokesperson for the minister of finance says that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been clear that “there will be no further exemptions for carbon pricing.”
