Minor Baseball:
Westville Minor Baseball Registration will be held Wednesday May 8th 7 – 8 p.m. at the Westville Rec Building, Foxbrook Road.
QMJHL:
The Halifax Mooseheads pulled off a big win on home ice last night, defeating the Rouyn Noranda Huskies 5-1. Benoit-Olivier Groulx, Samuel Asselin, Jocktan Chainey, Arnauld Durandeau and Maxim Trepanier scored the goals for the Moose, Alexis Gravel made 29 saves in the win. The series is all tied up heading to Rouyn Noranda for game 5 tomorrow night.
World Hockey Championship:
Just a quick reminder, the IIHF World Hockey Championship begins this Friday from Slovakia. Team Canada will play Finland at 11:15am.
MLB:
The Yankees completed the comeback with 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to defeat the Mariners 5-4.
J.D. Martinez knocked his 200th dinger as the Red Sox come away with the win over the Orioles 8-5.
Kris Bryant walked off the Marlins in the bottom of the 9th with a 3 run ripper propelling the Cubs to a 5-2 victory.
Jose Barrios threw 7 shutout innings to blank the Blue Jays, the Twins picked up a 3-0 win. Guerrero Jr went 1-4 with a strikeout.
NBA:
The Denver Nuggets pulled ahead of the Trailblazers in the game and the series, winning 124-98 and holding a 3-2 series lead.
The Raptors were on fire yesterday, pounding the 76ers 125-89. The Raptors have a chance to close out that series tomorrow night.
NHL:
The St Louis Blues are moving on to the Western Conference Finals! They defeated the Dallas Stars in double overtime last night to punch their ticket to the next round. Vince Dunn scored for the Blues and Pat Maroon scored the overtime winner. Mats Zuccarello scored the lone goal for the Stars. Jordan Binnington made 29 saves in the victory.
The Blues await the winner of tonight’s game 7 between the San Jose Sharks and the Colorado Avalanche, that puck drops at 10pm.
Also, there ain’t no rest for hockey fans. The Conference finals begin on Friday when the Carolina Hurricanes make the trip to Boston to face the Bruins.
