There is a Special Weather Statement that’s been issued for Nova Scotia for a storm this weekend. We could see wind gusts to 80 or 90kh on Saturday. Those high winds will be combined with snow, ice pellets and some significant rain totals.
Gasoline prices decreased in Nova Scotia overnight, while diesel prices increased. Gasoline prices went down by 1.6 cent per litre, leaving the minimum pump price for regular self-serve gasoline at 153.3 cents per litre in the local area. Diesel prices rose by 2.0 cents per litre, putting the minimum pump price for diesel at 189.5 cents per litre locally.
Pictou County District RCMP are investigating a stabbing that occurred late Tuesday afternoon at a motel on West River Road in Pictou Town.
When RCMP responded, they arrived on scene to find a man inside a hotel room who had been stabbed.
Police say the 28-year-old from Nova Scotia suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by EHS.
The Mounties say that information and evidence gathered indicates that prior to the incident, two men and a woman were observed entering the motel room.
Moments later, one of the two men was seen fleeing from the area.
At this time, RCMP believe that the incident was targeted in nature and that man who fled is responsible for the stabbing.
Pictou County District RCMP have released photos as part of their investigation and are looking to identify the three people in the pictures as they may have been involved or witnessed the event.

The executive director of Feed Nova Scotia says the province isn’t doing enough to help people struggling with the cost of living.
Nick Jennery told a legislature committee that more supports are needed for low-income Nova Scotians.
Jennery says there was a 26 per cent increase in food bank usage across the province last year. He says 77 per cent of food bank clients listed the high cost of housing and food as their reasons for needing support.
