They say they received another report on July 28th that a man was observed leaving garbage at the entrance to a mosque in the town.
Canada’s police chiefs say the frequency of protests linked to domestic and global issues is creating an “unsustainable demand” on policing services across the country. At its annual summit meeting in Halifax yesterday, the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police called on all levels of government to provide the “moral and financial support” necessary to meet the demand for service. The association’s president says chiefs are increasingly concerned they have to pull officers away from their regular duties and dispatch them to control demonstrations. As protests become more difficult to control, he says police will need more officers, equipment and training to deal with them.
