Due to road conditions, all Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education buses are running on paved roads only for Wednesday, December 11, 2024. This means students will be picked up in the morning and dropped off in the afternoon at the bus stop on the paved road nearest their house.

The Bank of Canada is set to make its final interest rate announcement of the year this morning.
Forecasters are widely expecting a half-percentage point interest rate cut.
That would bring the Bank of Canada’s key rate down to 3.25 per cent.
The November labour force survey solidified those expectations, as the latest employment figures showed the jobless rate rose to 6.8 per cent.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will meet virtually with Premier Tim Houston and the other premiers today to discuss the threat of U-S tariffs on Canadian imports. Zach Churchill has resigned as leader of the Nova Scotia’s Liberal party. Churchill says he will be replaced on an interim basis by Derek Mombourquette. The resignation follows a recount Monday in the district of Yarmouth, where Churchill lost his seat to Progressive Conservative candidate Nick Hilton by 16 votes. The Liberals now hold just two seats, down from the 14 they had going into last month’s election.
The Nova Scotia N-D-P is calling on the province’s Progressive Conservative government to do something about the affordability crisis following a new report from Nova Scotia’s largest food bank.
Feed Nova Scotia says food bank usage is up almost 70 per cent since 2021, and the vast majority of people who use food banks are renters.
N-D-P Leader Claudia Chender says an increasing number of Nova Scotians are being forced to rely on food banks because the government has failed to address the sky-rocketing cost of housing and other essentials.
