A 73-year-old man was found dead after a house fire in Shubenacadie.
On New years eve at around 7:15am RCMP responded to a report of a house fire on highway 215 in Shubenacadie.
Two occupants of the home, a 57-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man exited the house without injuries. The 73-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fire is not deemed to be suspicious.
RCMP are continuing to investigate with assistance from the Medical Examiner and Fire Marshall.
RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted on a province wide arrest warrant.
30-year-old Damon Rees of Sackville is facing charges of
- Aggravated assault
- Assault by choking
- Breach of probation
Rees is described as 5 foot 7, 165 pounds, with dark hair and brown eyes.
Police have made several attempts to locate Rees, and are asking for assistance from the public.
