Nova Scotia Health says there are more than 77-thousand residents on the wait-list for a family doctor or nurse practitioner. There were 84-thousand people on the so-called Need a Family Practice Registry as of September 1st. The health authority says the list shrunk by about six-thousand and 500 people as residents became attached to a primary care provider or were removed from the wait list for other reasons. Nova Scotia Health says 7.3 per cent of the province’s population are still in need of primary health care.
