New Glasgow Regional Police are investigating a vehicle/pedestrian collision, and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying any witnesses or video/ or dashcam video of the collision. It happened on Saturday at approximately 7:45pm at the intersection of Victoria Street and MacDonald Street. Police say the collision involved a young person on a scooter and a brown 2007 Toyota Corolla. Investigators are looking to speak with the rider of the scooter who left the area claiming to be uninjured.
Canada’s annual inflation accelerated to 2.4 per cent in September, up from 1.9 per cent in August.
That’s a tick higher than economists had expected.
Statistics Canada says it largely attributes the rise to yearly changes in gas prices and some stubborn price hikes at the grocery store.
The September inflation report will be the Bank of Canada’s last look at price data before the central bank’s next interest rate in about a week.

Premier Tim Houston has dropped three high-profile members of his cabinet.
In a cabinet shuffle announced late yesterday, Houston says he will take over the energy department from Trevor Boudreau.
Natural Resources Minister Tory Rushton has been replaced by Kim Masland, who will retain her role as minister of emergency management.
As well, Scott Armstrong is replacing Becky Druhan as attorney general and justice minister.
