Eastern Canada has been getting walloped by a messy storm that’s brought freezing rain, blowing snow and strong winds. We’ve been seeing freezing rain in Nova Scotia, as has PEI. From the east side of central Ontario to southern and western Quebec, Environment Canada issued winter storm warnings. Across Toronto and southern Ontario, there have been snow squall warnings posted. Winter storm, freezing rain and snowfall warnings have covered the whole of New Brunswick.
New Glasgow Regional Police say a 45 year old Halifax man faces multiple charges after damage and thefts at two stores in New Glasgow. On December 20th, Police received a complaint from a local sports store indicating that a man had damaged a display case and stole merchandise in excess of $10,000.
The man had immediately fled the store before police arrived. In their investigation, New Glasgow Regional Police identified the suspect, and he was arrested after two off-duty officers observed him at another business on December 24th and say they saw him commit a theft. He’s been remanded into custody as he faces a court appearance.
