New Glasgow Regional Police are asking for the public’s assistance in an investigation involving a theft from a Nova Scotia Liquor store on East River Road in New Glasgow.
On December 2nd, police received a report that a suspect entered the store and stole more than $1,000 worth of alcohol. The suspect immediately fled the store following the theft. In their investigation, police have released a photo of the suspect leaving the store in hopes that someone may be able to identify the person.
The R-C-M-P have arrested a fourth youth in an ongoing sexual assault investigation into a boys’ hockey team’s hazing ritual last fall. Police say the youth is facing charges of sexual assault and assault with choking. The Mounties say they arrested the youth Thursday — the same day they announced the first three arrests in the hazing investigation involving a hockey team in the Truro area. A provincial hockey governing body says it first learned in January about an allegation involving a minor who reported being assaulted during a private team gathering in October.
Police say they believe there may be other victims who have not yet come forward.
Former cabinet minister Chrystia Freeland says the United States needs to get its act together regarding global trade relationships, or risk worsening democracy for the globe.
Freeland says the world will be much poorer if democratic nations are forced to rely on China for trade and leadership instead of a reliable American partner.

The Seattle Seahawks have won the franchise’s second Super Bowl, beating the New England Patriots 29-13 Sunday night. Seattle’s defence led the way, and kicker Jason Myers set a Super Bowl record by making all five of his field-goal tries.
