Colchester County District RCMP are asking for public assistance in locating 40-year-old Thomas Francis Joseph MacGillivary. He goes by the name Joe. He was last seen on January 16th in Bible Hill. Joe MacGillivary is described as approximately 5-foot-11 and 130 pounds with blue eyes. He has medium-length blond/brown hair with a full beard and mustache. Investigators want to speak with anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Joe MacGillivary, or who has seen him or been in contact with him since January 16th.
Community health boards across Nova Scotia are now accepting applications for the 2026 wellness fund, which provides up to $3,500 for community‑led health and wellness projects. From Millbrook’s athlete-to-citizen program — in which student athletes grow as peer leaders and engaged citizens — to a circular food solution at St. FX that cuts food waste and provides meals to the community, the wellness fund supports projects across Nova Scotia that help people live healthier lives. The wellness fund awards $500 to $3,500 to eligible community projects. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, April 15 at 5 p.m.
Canada’s inflation rate fell to 2.3 per cent in January — a tick lower than economists had expected. Statistics Canada says lower prices at the pump and easing shelter inflation helped offset food inflation, which accelerated to more than seven per cent. Nova Scotia’s annual inflation rate in January was 2.7 percent.
